Peytons Day

This is a post of what Peyton did today:

Woke at 3 am because he wanted to watch TV. I guess you could say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. He loves TV just as much as his daddy. Got dressed, brushed his teeth. Loaded up and headed to mawmaw’s house. Ate toast for breakfast, watched a little Power Rangers, ate some chicken nuggets and mac n cheese for lunch. Watched some more TV, mommy picked him up, came home. Played on the computer PBSkids.com, waited for daddy so we could play golf. Played a putting game and WON, of course. Made it in the cup before mommy and daddy.

Wow, if we could be 6 forever, the innocence in their hearts and minds. The biggest obstacle you face during your day is what to eat and what to watch. No worries. What a great life.

But you know, I wouldn’t give up all the problems, obstacles and headaches I have everyday if it meant I couldn’t be the husband and father I am today. There is nothing more special to me than the privilege I’ve been given to be a husband and dad. I only pray that I am doing a good job in raising my kids, to be good spouses and parents. I pray that God will bless them as He has so graciously blessed me with the most wonderful family.

Thank you Lord for everything you’ve given me!

My main man!

I love this little man more than anything. Well except for maybe God. He never ceases to amaze me, he is the kindest, most creative person I know. He is 6, so he does have his moments but overall he is such a blessing! Today when I got home my wife told me he said to her that I never want to play golf with him. You see, every once in a while I go outside and chip in the yard, sometimes with my neighbors and sometimes just by myself. Well today we did it together and I enjoyed it so much. He’s a natural, maybe even the next Tiger, hold on lets be realistic, the next Mickelson is more like it.I guess my point is, sometimes we need to sit back and look at what we’re missing. He would probably do that with me everyday if I would just stop for a second and listen. Sometimes I think God is thinking the same thing. In a world of Tivo, Texting, GPS, Blogs, I could go on forever…we fail to listen to Him. Even when He is speaking to us loud and clear.So take a moment and listen, after all you can’t Tivo life. Or maybe that’s what our natural life is a bunch of episodes that we’ll get to watch again once we reach Heaven. Hopefully not full of too many bloppers.

My annual post

So here it is my annual post. So much has happened in a year:
New Daughther, New Job, New Car-(well used new car), Wife Graduated College (congratulations honey, I’m so proud of you), She has a JOB, New golf clubs. As I type all this I realize, I am so blessed! I love that our God is so generous and that he love us so much that he would provide for us things that make us happy even when He knows we will probably take them for granted. Thank you so much Lord, there is no amount of money that can buy the real happiness that You provide me, my family.

Heartbeat…

Well, it’s official, child number 2 is on the way and already a handful. Let me explain, my wife is 11 weeks pregnant for our second child and she had her sonogram appointment today and it took forever to get the new bundle of joy to stay still long enough to get a good enough signal to get a heart rate. Sure enough the little one finally chilled long enough for a reading and everything seems great. We can’t wait we’re very excited for number 2. Our 5 year old is very excited as well, he love’s kids, and can’t wait to be a big brother.

I’ve caved in!

I finally caved in and started a blog. I must say I will be very suprised if anyone reads it. But hey, I feel so behind the times with out it.
